What is virtual hardware?

Developers use simulation tools to create virtual representations of the hardware components they're working with, such as microcontrollers or sensors. Then, they write and test their software code in this simulated environment.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Faster Development: Developers can iterate more quickly since they don't have to wait for physical prototypes to be built and tested
  • Debugging: Simulation tools provide powerful debugging capabilities, allowing developers to identify and fix issues in their code more efficiently.
  • Accessibility: Virtual hardware and simulation tools make embedded development more accessible to a wider audience since they don't require specialized hardware or equipment.
